Quality Bible Study Products for Effective Devotions & Study 📘

I’ve been an official Christian since 2012. Over the years, I’ve collected various resources (which I’ll likely share in the near future). However, I asked myself the question:

if a new or young Christian asked me what are some tools I’d recommend to help them with their Bible reading/studying, what would I say?

So today, I’m sharing with you some of my favorite products for Bible devotions & studying. Definitely a simple starter pack–more to come soon!

Aside from a Bible itself, a good Bible dictionary is a super helpful resource to help expand your knowledge of Scripture and to also provide historical and cultural context. The one I’m recommending here was gifted to me by my now husband, then boyfriend. This one is colorful and lively and very readable. There aren’t many things you could wonder about that aren’t captured in here in some form!

These Bible tabs I was introduced to at a women’s bible study. She had a set with a different design but when I saw this particular set, I was smitten. It’s a struggle to flip back and forth quickly during a study or church so these are both an expression of your personal style and functional in helping you find and keep your place.

The pens & highlighters are both from Mr. Pen, a well-known Christian brand. The quality is wonderful and they won’t bleed through delicate Bible pages.

Fun fact about the highlighters: I actually had to buy a second set because my husband keep stealing–sorry, borrowing, my highlighters for his morning study, but not returning them to our prayer closet so they’d be ready for me when I’d wake up to do mine lol! Also, I do love that the colors are a bit muted and not a vibrant neon like standard highlighters.

Septuagint

BONUS #1: Highly recommend having a Septuagint in your home library, prayer closet, or having with you when you’re looking to do a deep-dive study. This is the Greek version of the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and can greatly expand your understanding of the text. When translating across different languages, sometimes there isn’t a 1:1 equivalent for a word–in other cases there are many! If you’re a lover of words and language, you’ll certainly appreciate this.

strongs-concordance

BONUS #2: Strong’s Concordance is a massive index of all the words of the Bible. It also includes Hebrew & Greek dictionaries. This will help you to understand the usages of different words, highlights the words of Christ in red for convenience, and can be used alongside many different Bible translations

I want to encourage you if you’re just starting out and trying to study the Bible more seriously to not be intimidated. James 1:5 says, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

If we truly seek God in His word, to understand His character, and to grow to be more like His Son Jesus, He is faithful to help us and reveal Himself to those who honor & revere Him (Matthew 7:7, Psalm 25:14). Baby steps! 🙂

God Bless & happy studying!

Hope you found this helpful.
